Andrea E McGrath is a strategic and entrepreneurial leader with deep, cross-sector experience helping individuals and organizations, ranging from startups to Fortune 500, to catalyze ideas into action. As founder of amplified impact, Andrea has worked with trailblazers and pioneers in the fields of social enterprise, civic innovation, venture philanthropy and impact investing over the past decade.
Andrea’s career is defined by her curiosity to solve problems that matter and her keen ability to quickly move from systems thinking and big-picture insights to focus on the details and ‘connect the dots' between strategy and execution. She excels at creative problem solving and generating ideas, evidence and insights to accelerate impact for clients and colleagues.
With deep experience working within and between the worlds of strategy, finance, entrepreneurship and academia, Andrea applies her unique knowledge and networks across sectors (solutions, insights) to accelerate impact for clients and colleagues.
While deeply focused on strengthening individuals and organizations, Andrea is also a passionate advocate for developing and supporting the broader ‘fields’ of social innovation and impact investing. She works with intermediaries and universities to develop and push forward key learnings; advises and mentors impact entrepreneurs at several universities and accelerators; regularly serves as an evaluator and judge for national and local competitions and fellowships; and champions both local networks and national field builders as an adviser, advocate and community builder.
Prior to her work in social impact, Andrea was a strategist with a Fortune 500 financial services organization, a research director at a Wall Street executive search firm, and a fundraiser with a national health organization. She earned her M.P.A. in Leadership and Social Change at the Harvard Kennedy School, M.B.A. in Management and Finance at the University of Connecticut, and B.A. in Political Science at Boston College.
